FORWA PTFE Wire Wrapping Film
High-end wire and cable insulation · Unsintered/sintered dual forms · Extreme temperature resistance
FORWA · SINCE 1993
Product Introduction
FORWA PTFE Wire Wrapping Film is a high-performance film material mainly made from Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) resin. This product is specially designed for high-end wire and cable insulation applications and is available in two forms: unsintered (original PTFE film) and sintered (fully sintered PTFE film).
Unsintered PTFE wrapping film is made from PTFE dispersion resin and has excellent ductility and wrapping performance. After wrapping around the outer layer of the cable conductor, it is subjected to high-temperature sintering, during which the film melts and shrinks to form a dense, continuous, and transparent insulating layer. Sintered PTFE wrapping film has already completed the pre-sintering process before delivery, requiring no additional sintering treatment after wrapping, making the production process simpler and more efficient.

Core Advantages
Extreme Temperature Resistance
Long-term working temperature range -150°C to +250°C. Excellent high-temperature stability and inherent flame retardancy ensure reliable operation of equipment in high-temperature areas such as engines and metallurgy.
Excellent Electrical Performance
Extremely low dielectric constant (ε ≈ 2.1) and extremely low dielectric loss. Minimal signal attenuation, suitable for high-frequency and high-speed data transmission, meeting high-frequency scenarios such as 5G and radar.
Chemical Inertness and Durability
Resistant to strong acids, strong alkalis, strong oxidants, and organic solvents. Chemical inertness and UV resistance ensure ultra-long service life, up to decades in harsh environments.
Lightweight and Process Flexibility
The film form is extremely lightweight and can produce cables with extremely small outer diameters and very thin walls. The wrapping process is highly adaptable, suitable for cable production of various shapes and specifications.
Ultra-Low Friction Surface
Extremely smooth surface with an extremely low coefficient of friction. Self-lubricating properties reduce wear during installation and operation.
High Reliability and Long Life
Precision wrapping ensures a uniform, dense, bubble-free insulating layer, significantly improving electrical reliability. Excellent aging resistance, with service life up to decades in harsh environments, greatly reducing maintenance costs.
Industry Pain Points Solved
| Traditional Pain Points | PTFE Wire Wrapping Film Solution |
|---|---|
| High-temperature environment failure: ordinary insulation materials melt, age, and degrade at high temperatures, causing cable failure. | Ensures reliable operation of equipment in high-temperature areas such as engines and metallurgy. |
| High-frequency signal attenuation and distortion: traditional materials in high-frequency transmission have high dielectric loss and strong signal reflection, causing signal delay, attenuation, and phase distortion. | Suitable for high-frequency transmission scenarios such as 5G and radar, with low signal loss. |
| Chemical corrosion and contamination: cables in chemical, medical, and other environments are corroded, contaminated, or breed bacteria. | Ensures system purity and safety. |
| Insulation layer cracking: ordinary materials have mismatched thermal expansion coefficients and are prone to cracking and falling off. | PTFE film has good thermal expansion coefficient matching with conductors and a microporous structure, adapting to thermal expansion and contraction, avoiding insulation layer cracking or falling off. |
| Corona and partial discharge: corona and partial discharge occur at the tips of metal shielding layers in high-voltage cables. | Effectively wraps the tips of metal shielding layers, suppressing corona and partial discharge. |
